It all started when...
"I saw and felt the importance of paying it forward."
Susie McMurry is as native a Wyomingite as it gets. She was born and raised in Hanna where her family operated the Home Ranch Motel, Gas Station, Bar and Café. She attended Casper College and graduated from the University of Wyoming with B.A. in Education. As a young teacher in Casper, she fell in love with Mick McMurry.
Together they embraced their community and started a family. In addition to her daughters and grandchildren, she helped raise over 20 foster children in Natrona County. Many, many children, young and old, call her Nana. In 1998, she and Mick started the McMurry Foundation and have been paying it forward ever since.
In addition to her other volunteer work, Susie has supported cancer patients through smiles and volunteering with the Angels Program at Rocky Mountain Oncology.
